Our Story
The reopening of Stoney Park Campgrounds after nearly 20 years.
Stoney Nakoda Nation
The Land
Stoney Park Campgrounds covers over 700 acres within the traditional territory of the Stoney Nakoda Nation, west of Calgary along the Bow River corridor. The Stoney people have called this land home for generations.
The campground sits on Stoney Nation land, surrounded by foothills and river valleys. You are camping on Indigenous land when you stay here.

Close to the City. Far from Crowded.
A Better Weekend
Some campgrounds feel packed before you even unload. Stoney Park has more room between sites, more open land, and none of that shoulder-to-shoulder feeling.
You get the fire, the table, the quiet, and enough space to spread out and enjoy camp without feeling boxed in.
Today
The Campground Today
Today the campground has hundreds of campsites across six sections of forest and open ground. Every site has a picnic table and firepit. Section D has power hookups. The office has showers, washrooms, and firewood for sale.
Guests come here for space, quiet, and straightforward camping on a lot of land.

On Screen
Film & Television
Four Hollywood productions have filmed on this land. HBO's The Last of Us used the campground in Episode 6. Hulu's Prey was shot entirely outdoors here with natural light. Netflix's The Abandons built the Van Ness homestead on the property. The Revenant filmed scenes in the same area.
