Camping Near Calgary: What to Know for 2026
Most camping near Calgary is west of the city on the Trans-Canada, somewhere between Cochrane and Canmore. A lot of it feels the same. Sites crammed together, everyone's generator running, kids from three campsites over wandering through yours.
We're about 45 minutes west of Calgary on Stoney Nakoda Nation land. Over 700 acres, six sections. Forest, open ground, some ridge. Every site has a firepit and picnic table. Section D has power if you need it. Office has showers, washrooms, firewood.
2026 season
Mid-May to end of September, give or take. We post the exact dates on the reserve page each spring and you can book online right away.
Rates depend on the site and whether it's a weekday or weekend. If you're bringing more than 6 people to one site, there's a large group fee. Check-in is after 1, checkout before noon.
Why this place
There's actual room between sites. You can have a conversation at normal volume without your neighbours hearing every word.
The land is foothills, river valley, and open ridge. Four Hollywood productions shot here: The Last of Us, Prey, The Abandons, The Revenant. If you've seen any of those, you've already seen what it looks like out here.
We don't have a pool or mini-golf or WiFi. We have fire, a table, quiet, and a lot of space.
